Why should we choose Surrey for our next event?
Surrey has a central location, a mild climate, diverse attractions, great hotels, and is close to some of the Vancouver area’s most well known attractions. Overall, Surrey is a great choice for events that combines value, accessibility, and an exciting destination on the rise.
What’s the weather like in Surrey?
Surrey enjoys a mild climate throughout all four seasons, with minimal winter snow, and less rain than Vancouver proper. Daily mean temperature in the summer is about 18°C/64°F, and in the winter, daily mean temperature is about 4°C/38°F.
How many delegates can we host in Surrey?
Surrey hotels can host groups of up to 700 delegates. Our biggest hotel has 26,000 square feet of meeting space, with 19 meeting rooms and the largest meeting room is 5,400 square feet. Note, several of our hotels can partner together to host larger events.
What kind of accommodation venues are there in Surrey?
Surrey has 17 hotels and motels of various sizes. We pride ourselves in having both smaller family-run venues perfect for intimate smaller groups looking to explore the area, as well as larger international branded venues for corporate and association scale events.
How far is Surrey from downtown Vancouver?
It takes about 35 minutes to an hour to drive to Downtown Vancouver from Downtown Surrey. Or, you can take the Expo Line rapid transit system which takes about 30-35 minutes as well. For transit-goers, we recommend a transit DayPass which covers bus, SkyTrain and SeaBus transit.
How much is the hotel tax in Surrey?
The hotel tax in Surrey is 16%, comprised of a 5% goods and services tax (GST); 8% provincial sales room tax (PST); and a 3% municipal and regional district tax (MRDT). Tax is Room Tax 8%, 5% GST and 3% MRDT
Are there union hotels and motels in Surrey?

What sort of off-site venues are there in Surrey?
There’s plenty! Surrey is home to Crescent beach on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, as well as the acclaimed Redwood and Tynehead Parks which give you a chance to immerse yourself in the west-coast rainforest. Historic Stewart Farms provides history for those who want to explore Surrey’s past, whereas Fraser Downs is Metro Vancouver’s foremost racetrack. Add in great shopping and dining options at Guildford Town Center, and Morgan’s Crossing, and it’s clear Surrey has something to offer for everyone.
How far is Surrey from the airport?
Downtown Surrey is centrally located about 30 km, or a 30 minute drive, from YVR airport; and about 40 km or a 40 minute drive from Abbotsford international airport.
How much is parking in Surrey?
Parking rates vary by hotel and motel, but many offer free parking.
